Opportunities for Involvement

 

In the event you would like to become more involved in our Affiliate, we always have needs, on either the Board of Directors or one of our support committees. Here is a brief description of areas of participation.

  • Family Support Committee- provides a mutual support system to families, prospective families during the building process, answering questions, providing resources, helping to ensure partner families attend Financial Education and Home Maintenance seminars.

  • Family Selection Committee- screens applications, interviews applicants, performs home inspection and background checks in accordance with the Habitat for Humanity guidelines.

  • Building Committee- responsible for planning and implementing the construction projects along with future site selection. . This includes obtaining house plans, soliciting contractors and supplies.

  • Volunteer Coordination- manages our Volunteer Mailing list, ensuring Volunteers have all the necessary information on work days.

  • Media Coordinator – manage our website and Facebook pages, coordinate with local press on volunteer opportunities and events.

  • Board Treasurer – responsible for keeping full and accurate records, coordinating with our Accountant for annual tax filings, prepare monthly reports on cash flow and balance sheet items. This person would partner with the current Treasurer to train until they are comfortable with all of the reporting.

  • Board of Directors- in additional to participation on one or more committees, the Board meets monthly to ensure compliance with our mission, financial oversight, and planning.
